Tencel is the brand name of the fiber lyocell. The fabric is stiff when wet, but becomes soft, comfortable, strong, and supple as it dries. Some benefits of Tencel are:

• It is strong, but as soft as linen.
• It is water-absorbent, even more so than cotton.
• On the other hand, it dries much faster.
• It ventilates well, so it keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer .
• It continues to smell nice; research shows that bacterial growth on synthetic fabrics is 2,000 times faster than on Tencel.
