Winter cotton or Viyella fabric is known by many names, such as valella, villela or viyela. It's all the same typical winter fabric that was originally a blend of cotton and wool. Today we see viyella mainly as 100% cotton, with a polyester mix, with a wool mix, etc… A comfortable and warm fabric of high quality that is often used for children's clothing, shirts, overalls, or winter pyjamas. It is a very easy fabric to sew , similar to sewing poplin. Viyella fabric has a nice drape and is ideal for beginners.
